- 1990
The Foundation Year
- Establishment of Soon Rex Trading (Sole Proprietor).
- Served clients from various industries by brainstorming, designing and fabricating.
- Manufactured merchandise racking for F&B and advertisement industries (Coca-Cola, 100PLUS, Carlsberg etc.), bookstores, and shopping mall tenants nationwide (AEON, 1 Utama, Popular Bookstores, Mydin, etc.)
- 2000
Innovation Age 1: Automotive Garage Equipment
- Establishment of Soon Rex Trading Sdn Bhd.
- Became the pioneer manufacturer in Malaysia to produce automotive garage equipment.
- Worked with major oil companies (Shell, Caltex, BP, Petronas, Exxo etc.), automotive industry players (OEM, Sime Darby Auto Bavaria, Federal Auto, Ingress Auto, Tian Siang Mottorad, Quill Automobile, Hap Seng Mercedes Benz, Cycle & Carriage, Land Rover, UMW Toyota, Honda, Tan Chong Motor, Ferrari, etc.), and major independent garages and equipment traders.
- Began designing and fabricating tool trolleys, cabinets, metal racks for storage and display, workbenches, custom-made special tool cabinets, key lockers, platform lifts, etc.
- 2006
Improving Operations & Capabilities
- Developed the first mould for garage equipment.
- Designed layouts for garages and produced an extensive range of garage equipment and modular cabinet systems.
- Establishment of Soon Rex Marketing Sdn Bhd to expand client reach and specialise in designing, producing and manufacturing garage equipment.
- 2017
Innovation Age 2: Bespoke Showroom & Industrial Kitchen
- Since 2000, we have continued collaborating with the design team to build automotive showrooms and merchandise displays, such as the RATC concept for Ingress Auto BMW, Damansara, Sime Darby, Auto Bavaria, Mini Couper, and others.
- Became the first local company to produce and manufacture spare part shelving systems.
- Expanded manufacturing and fabrication capabilities to restaurant marble tables, stainless steel cooking facilities, etc.
- 2019
Forging New Path with Bespoke Aquaculture Solutions
- Pioneered and manufactured automated drum filtration and bakki filter equipment for commercial and private aquatic pet breeding.
- Expanded customer base to aquaculture and residential sectors.
